The HBO documentary, ‘Being Serena’ shed light on her struggle on the most important day of her life. The eyewitness who covered the tennis legend’s wedding also talked about how she managed to take her time out to breastfeed her newborn.

The eye witness expressed, “Serena was still breastfeeding, so in between spins around the dance floor and up on stage with New Edition during their surprise performance, she had to take time-outs to pump. She bounded in and out of the makeshift dressing room at the museum in her bedazzled Nike after-party sneakers to take care of business, never once complaining.”

The former world number one started clotting blood just a day or two after giving birth, which made breathing difficult and her stitches burst out. She learned that she had an abdominal hematoma. As someone who knows her body better than anyone else, Serena pestered the medical staff to give her a CAT scan. It proved to be vital as the scan revealed that she had a blood clot in her lungs.

A major complication was avoided due to Serena’s attention to detail and assertiveness, traits that have also helped her to dominate in the professional circuit as well.
