Despite the on-court rivalry, Serena Williams and Venus Williams had a great bond off the court. Even on the court, they have always appreciated each other’s success. Together, they have won many accolades, which will remain in the history books forever.
In many interviews, we have seen both of them praising one another. Sometimes, they even post about each other. In the Goop podcast, Venus talked about many things. When asked about driving skills, Venus revealed an interesting story about Serena’s driving skills.

Venus Williams tells a funny story about Serena Williams

In the Goop podcast, Venus Williams had a fun interaction with actress Gwyneth Paltrow. When they were talking about each other’s driving skills, Venus told a really funny story about Serena’s driving. According to Venus, it happened during Wimbledon as Serena decided to drive herself to the stadium. However, the 23-time Grand Slam champion hit the curb, and they had a flat. After that incident, Serena has never driven a car, as per Venus.

“Oh my gosh, one time we were driving in Wimbledon, we had a car, and we could drive ourselves to Wimbledon. And Serena, she hit the curb, and we had a flat and we had a doubles match, and we didn’t know what to do (laughs). And we had to figure that situation out quick because we, you can’t just not show up to the match. So that was, that was interesting. She’s never driven again. Since that time on the road, like in Australia or London, she won’t, that killed it for her(laughs),” Venus revealed. 

Notably, Serena won 23 Grand Slam singles titles and Venus won 7. Together, they have won 14 Grand Slam doubles titles.

Still a question mark over the return of the Williams Sisters

The story was truly amusing to hear from Venus. However, fans are eagerly waiting for the return of the Williams Sisters on the tour. Venus last played at the Chicago Open in August last year. As for Serena, since Wimbledon’s first round, she hasn’t played any matches.

Earlier, Venus already gave a hint about her comeback on the tour, which could be very soon. However, we are still unsure about Serena’s return. In a recent interview, she talked about her desire to reach the 24th Grand Slam title, which means she’s not done yet.
