It is a well-known fact that the love story of Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian started in 2015 in Rome. Since then, they have come a long way, as they married each other and welcomed their baby daughter Olympia in 2017.

Currently, the Williams family is spending their time in London, as Serena is getting ready for the Wimbledon Championships. In the meantime, Ohanian took to social media to share a memory from the past when he met Serena and watched her play for the first time.

Alexis Ohanian shares an old picture of Serena Williams playing

Earlier, Ohanian posted a picture of his wife, Serena Williams, on his official Twitter account. Interestingly, that picture was from the Rome Masters back in 2015, when Ohanian first met the American tennis legend. In the caption, he wrote, “2015. This was the first photo I took of my now wife; the same day I met her randomly at breakfast & she invited me to see her match in Rome. Please disregard the dated IG filter I put on it…”

Notably, Ohanian was coincidentally staying at the same hotel as Serena, when the latter was playing the Rome Masters in 2015. One morning, the Reddit co-founder sat next to Serena’s table for breakfast and ended up getting a ticket for her match at the Italian Open.

Speaking about the incident, Serena said, “This guy comes and he just plops down at the table next to us and I’m like, ‘Huh! All these tables and he’s sitting here?’”

The next year in December, Ohanian proposed to Serena at the exact same hotel and at the exact same table.

After the draw, Serena found out that she will face the French tennis player Harmony Tan in the very first round at Wimbledon. However, she did get a pretty tough draw. In order to win the title, she may have to face Coco Gauff, Iga Swiatek, Simona Halep, and others. This could be her last Wimbledon, so it will be interesting to see how far she goes.
