Martina Navratilova’s wife, Julia Lemigova, has left no stone unturned to support her wife as she battles cancer. The former Russian model is all set to give her wife the biggest surprise, which she may not anticipate. The 59-time Grand Slam champion was diagnosed with stage one throat cancer in January. And shortly after that, during the treatment of throat cancer, she was also diagnosed with breast cancer. However, both cancers are in their early stages and can be treated.
Julia Lemigova’s surprise for Martina Navratilova
In a conversation with the PEOPLE magazine, the 50-year-old, the Real Housewife of Miami actress, revealed that she chopped off her long brunette locks to change her haircut into a shoulder-length bob for her wife. This is to symbolize her way of standing by her side on her cancer journey.

Before the surprise, Lemigova talked openly about how she wanted to see the former Czech–American tennis player. She said, “Knowing Martina, because she’s so sentimental, I think she’s going to cry. I think, I hope not, but she does cry when she sees black-and-white movies and romantic love stories. She just, like ‘happy tears,’ she called it. And she knows I did it a lot because of her.”

Back when the former world number one shared the heartbreaking news of her cancer diagnosis with the fans, everybody from the tennis circuit or from the entertainment industry showed their support. Seeing those supportive messages, the 50-year-old model took to her Instagram to show her gratitude.
