Chris Evert praises Coco Gauff

No doubt, Coco Gauff has immense talent. In her limited playing time on tour, she showed some of her talents. At the age of 17, she already achieved her 5th top-10 win after beating Badosa. Last year, she made significant progress on the Grand Slam level, as she reached the quarter-final at the French Open.

Rightfully, she is getting all the praises she deserves for her showing on the tour. Even American legend Chris Evert praised the teenager, as she wrote a strong message on Twitter.

“I don’t know how anyone can be skeptical of Coco Gauff and her game. She’s 17 and making significant progress in her game/ in her results. She may have hiccups, but she is on a Path to win Majors,” Evert wrote.

Although Evert praised Coco, she also seemingly took a dig at her haters.

Currently, Coco is at the quarter-final of the Qatar Open and will play no.6 from Greece, Maria Sakkari. Incidentally, this was Coco’s first time playing at the Qatar Open in Doha. So, reaching the quarter-final on the first attempt is not a bad achievement for the 17-year-old.

However, she didn’t start the year that well, as she lost to Wang Qiang in the first round. Again, she lost in the first round at the Dubai Open to Jessica Pegula. But her comeback in Doha will give her lots of confidence for the upcoming tournaments.
