Serena Williams is The Queen of the Court by all meanings of the term. The Compton native has destroyed almost all the records in the women’s circuit and set an extremely high standard. However, no great player is without weaknesses. Venus Williams, Serena Williams’ older sister, revealed her weakness in an interview back in 1999 when the two were fairly new players on the world stage.

The two sisters have faced each other several times on the court. The younger sister Serena leads the rivalry with 19 wins to Venus’ 12. This is an even more impressive achievement since Venus is aware of Serena’s Achilles Heel!

Venus once revealed Serena Williams’ biggest weakness

The two sisters grew up on the court together. Serena and Venus Williams were close from the moment they picked up the racket. However, the two faced off against each other quite a bit on the court. Several players have wondered about overcoming The Queen of the Court. But her sister was actually able to figure out what makes her sister vulnerable.

The elder Williams sister was not shy about revealing the weakness of her younger sister. Venus interviewed with WorldSportTV in 1999 and revealed what she thought was the greatest weakness of her sister’s game. As per her, Serena Williams lacks patience. She went on to add that she wants things quickly and has a problem waiting for them. But added that Serena’s a great player overall.

Venus said, “I would say that she’s just impatient. She wants things right here, right here, right now, right away, so I would just say that sometimes can be a weakness, but I would say Serena’s a really strong player all around. She said impatience gets too or sometime“.

Serena once trolled other players for not picking up on her weakness

In an interview with CBS, the 23-time Grand Slam champion trolled her fellow WTA players for not picking up on her game. In the 2017 Australian Open, Serena was eight weeks pregnant. While she was still able to play, she struggled to do one very common aspect in competitive tennis. She was not able to play beyond four or five rallies. Fortunately for her, no one picked up on it and allowed her to live the dream of breaking Steffi Graf’s record.

While there may have been some problems in Serena’s game, the Compton-born legend was able to triumph each time she stepped on the court.
