When the discussions about Saudi Arabia getting involved in conducting the WTA Finals were all around, Ons Jabeur was constantly in favor of it. However, that deal did not go through. But she did get Saudi Arabia involved somehow as she got her clothing sponsorship from there. She has now officially become the first player to get outfitted by a brand based out of Saudi.

The name of the company is ‘Kayanee’. After the news broke and her outfit was revealed, Ons Jabeur was told about the resemblance her outfit carried to what Serena Williams wore.

Ons Jabeur shares jokingly how Serena Williams may have copied her outfit
In a recent interview, Ons Jabeur was asked about how involved she was in designing the outfit she would be wearing at the Australian Open. To this, Jabeur replied by saying that she didn’t really have much to do with it. However, when it was implied that the jacket she wore was like Serena Williams, she responded in a way that was too funny.

Jabeur said, “She was copying me a little bit (laughter)”. Well, it is safe to say, that she is never too serious, even during interviews. Jabeur also added, “I’m very happy to start this new partnership. I’m choosing the next, you know, the collection, the colors again, they asked me which ones I like more, the designs. We are going to try something.”

She seems to be quite happy with the way things are working out with ‘Kayanee’. She mentioned how pampered she feels with their work. Besides this, another piece of news that might cheer her fans up is obviously about her recent win in first round at the Australian Open against Yulia Starodubtsewa.

Jabeur proceeds to the second round of the Australian Open
After defeating her 23-year-old opponent, Jabeur has made her way into the second round of the tournament. She held her victory with a 6-3 and 6-1 win in the two sets. The 29-year-old Tunisian also shared how wonderful it was for her to be back on the court and win one during her post-match conference.
She added, “It’s very special to come back here. I decided to rest a bit before the Australian Open and play here. Last year wasn’t so great for me here and I was a little stressed, but the crowd made me feel less stressed.”
