‘She Was Holding a Shark in Her Hands’ – Serena Williams Once Narrated a Horror Dream Involving Venus Williams and Her Father ‘King Richard’

Serena Williams’ story from the streets of Compton to the top of the tennis world is nothing short of inspirational. During her childhood days, she trained with her father, Richard Williams, and elder sister, Venus Williams, on the public tennis courts in Compton. The Williams sisters’ father was determined to turn his daughters into champion tennis players.
Few years later, Rick Macci joined their team and struck a healthy relationship with the Williams family. Together, Macci and Richard played an instrumental role in the success of Serena and Venus. The younger Williams sister once narrated a horror dream involving her father and sister.

Serena Williams’ wild dream
While Serena was training with her then hitting partner, Sascha Bajin, she narrated a horror dream to him that she had dreamed. Serena went on to say, “I had a dream last night. My dad was in the Mafia, and he’d done something bad, and there were body parts everywhere, but I didn’t want to see them. Then the Mafia came over to our house, but it wasn’t our real house, and they had grenades and rifles.”

Further, she added, “My dreams always have a twist. Then I was swimming with Venus, and then she was holding a shark in her hands pushing at me. I mean, what does that mean?”
Serena’s disappointing comeback continues
In the ongoing WTA 1000 tournament in Cincinnati, the 40-year-old lost tamely in her first-round match against Emma Raducanu. In the 3 tournaments that Serena has participated in singles on her comeback, she has managed to win just a single match while losing three.
