20-year-old Amanda Anisimova started her clay campaign at Charleston Open with a win over S Vickery. While she managed to bagel her opponent in the first set, the second set proved to be a tougher nut to crack. She finally won the set 7-5, to record her first clay-court win in 2022.

In the post-match interview, she ended up chatting candidly with Steve Weissman, from the Tennis Channel. The conversation turned to how Anisimova was invited to Kim Kardashian’s swimwear brand’s launch in Miami.

Currently ranked No. 43 in the world, Amanda Anisimova recalled some fun times that she spent with Naomi Osaka before the commencement of the Miami open 2022.

“Yeah, that was super cool. I’ve always wanted to meet Kim. She was super nice. And it was a really fun event. Actually, Naomi was there as well. And we all had a good time before the Miami Open,” she said.

Kim Kardashian had a star-studded launch for her new collection of SKIMs, the SKIMS Swim, in Miami. Among the invitees were former World No. 1 Naomi Osaka and Amanda Anisimova. Both the tennis players upped their glam quotient significantly and seemed to have a great time at the party!

The latter in the interview said that the reason she was at the party was because of her friendship with David Grutman. One of the most famous restauranteurs in Miami, Grutman is also a tennis enthusiast and Amanda Anisimova’s neighbor.

“I love Dave. He’s an awesome person. And he’s super fun to be around. So yeah, I got to know him because we play tennis at first in Miami. He lives very close to me. So yeah, I mean, I met him last summer,” Anisimova said.

When asked what life lesson Dave had given her, she said it was out close out matches quickly, and she managed to do just that in her Round of 64 match at the Charleston Open.
