20-year-old Emma Raducanu stunned the world when she walked away with the 2021 US Open crown. At the time, she was aged only 18, and her landmark win bagged her plenty of lucrative endorsement deals. But the 2021 US Open win seems far away, given that Raducanu’s form has been erratic at best ever since. Right now, the young Briton is recovering from several ankle and wrist surgeries, which she underwent following her sudden withdrawal from the 2023 Madrid Open. However, even as she recovers, she is seemingly not afraid of taking bold decisions. Her latest announcement revealed the departure of Sebastian Sachs, the latest coach to come in Raducanu’s firing line.

It’s unfortunate that circumstances made it unfeasible for both of us to continue right now and we have decided to part ways. I wish Seb all the best moving forwards.”

Raducanu herself will be intent on recovering quickly from her surgeries. After all, the more tennis she continues to miss, the lower she slips in the WTA Tour rankings.
