After making a name for herself in the NCAA community, Peyton Stearns has now taken the WTA Tour by storm. The American tennis prodigy took the spotlight at her home Grand Slam event in New York, where she experienced a breakthrough. During her campaign at the US Open, the former University of Texas player overcame the likes of Katie Boulter to reach her maiden round of 16 at a major tournament.

On top of this, the 22-year-old also made headlines at the Beijing Open, where she reached the semifinals of the doubles event. Stearns’ recent success on the tour has won her a few admirers, one of whom recently heaped praise on her while using a popular hockey phrase.

Peyton Stearns gets a huge shout-out from a renowned podcast show host

In the latest episode of the ‘Tennis Channel Inside-In’ podcast, the show host, Mitch Michals, gave his assessment of some of the American tennis prodigies competing on the WTA Tour. He also mentioned the name of the former NCAA champion while heaping admiration for her on-court game style.

“And I love watching Peyton Stearns play because it’d be to steal a phrase from another sport, like I’m a big hockey fan as well.” Michals said. Meanwhile, the podcast show host also used the popular hockey phrase ‘got some jam out there’ as he described Peyton Stearns’ incredible personality.

Michals added, “She’s got some jam out there. She’s always writing. She’s passionate. And I would just like that approach. I think that’s going to serve her well, as she continues to improve.”

Apart from Stearns, the show host also mentioned the name of another rising American tennis star who has garnered a lot of attention owing to her prowess.

The renowned podcast show host also hailed Alycia Parks

Just like Peyton Stearns, her compatriot, Alycia Parks, is also doing wonders on the women’s circuit at a very young age. The former University of Arizona player secured her first singles title on the WTA Tour this season after outshining the top seed, Caroline Garcia, in the Lyon Open.

Now that she has established herself in the top echelons, the 22-year-old is getting lauded by many, including Mitch Michals. During the honest conversation, the podcast show host said, “The Americans you mentioned, I mean, Alycia Parks has some serious weapons has been rounding into form herself.”
