Williams has been a role model for many achieving numerous feats over the last two decades. However, the American has more involved as a mother and a wife after her marriage to Alexis Ohanian.
Serena Williams calls Kate Middleton a “badass”
In an interview from 2018 with InStyle, the 23-time Grand Slam champion revealed her list of “badasses.” The list included the likes of Beyonce and Rihanna, but there was a surprise name – Kate Middleton. Williams went on to explain Middleton’s inclusion.

She says, “Kate Middleton. And why’s that? Because of the woman’s ability to stand, composed in front of a bank of photographers, after each of her births, So she’s officially No. 1.”
Middleton had just welcomed Prince Louis in 2018, but was present in front of the media after immediately. The pair met for the first time in 2016, while Williams is also a close friend of Meghan Markle.
Williams and Meghan Markle: an unlikely friendship?
The duo have been close friends way before Markle married Prince Harry in 2018. Williams and husband Alexis Ohanian even attended the wedding, while even hosting Meghan’s baby shower. They reportedly met back in 2010 and have grown closer since.

Markle, meanwhile, has been present at Williams’ matches on Tour including visits to Wimbledon and US Open. “We have known each other for a long time, but we really kind of are relying on each other right a lot recently,” Williams revealed in 2018.
With the pair in two different spectrums of the world, it is nice to see how they keep their friendship ever so strong.
