American tennis star Serena Williams has emerged as a true asset of this game. How she has gone about things in her career has put her in a special category.
Over the past couple of decades, Williams has done wonders in this sport and achieved a status that not all players manage to do so. Not many players have a prolonged career as Serena has managed to achieve.

Serena Williams feels she could have done more
Recently, Serena spoke about her success on the Tour. She has won 23 Grand Slam titles in her career so far. However, she does feel that she could have won more titles and maybe around the 30-32 mark.
While speaking on this subject, Williams stated, “I should have been on 30 or 32 major singles titles. The record should have been in my possession, as I had many opportunities to claim it. Still, I’m not giving up.”
Reflecting on tennis, Williams won her last Grand Slam title at the Australian Open 2017. It was her 23rd title and since then has made it to the final of four Grand Slam tournaments.

Injuries have taken a toll
Analyzing the past few months, Serena has not been seen on the circuit for a while. During the Wimbledon Championships, she was unable to compete due to a sprained ankle that occurred during the early stages of the match.

Since then, Williams has skipped the US Open as she was suffering from a hamstring injury back then. She even missed the first Grand Slam tournament of the season, the Australian Open as she was still dealing with fitness issues.

However, she has been targeting a return and will be seen sometime this season. We wish her the very best in her recovery and hope to see her in action soon. All eyes will be on her when she decides to compete again. It will be interesting to see if she can win her much-awaited 24th Grand Slam title.
