Silver Medallist Marketa Vondrousova Announces Engagement With Tennis Player After Tokyo Olympics Glory

Silver medalist in the women’s singles tennis event at the Tokyo Olympics, Marketa Vondrousova announced her engagement with her long-time boyfriend, Stepan Simek. She did so on Instagram and flaunted the engagement ring on her hand.

Notably, the duo had been dating since April 2016, according to their oldest picture together on Instagram. Moreover, as Simek is also a tennis player, they joined the list of official tennis couples.

Vondrousova, who gained a recent high in her professional career, found another positive one in her personal life. She captioned the image, “My forever.”

Besides Vondrousova and Simek, Ukrainian tennis star Elina Svitolina recently got married to French professional Gael Monfils. Additionally, the pair even skipped their honeymoon to take part in the Tokyo Olympics.

Later on, Svitolina lost to Vondrousova in the semifinal, but brought home the bronze medal. Most certainly, the love life is pretty much active for these tennis players alongside their careers.

On hearing the news, many WTA competitors rushed to Instagram to forward their wishes. The list includes Kristina Mladenovic, Kiki Bertens, Marta Kostyuk, CiCi Bellis, Katie Swan, Katie Boulter, Destanee Aiava, Rebecca Sramkova, Priscilla Hon, Viktoria Kuzmova, and Andrea Sestini Hlavackova.
