World No.2 Naomi Osaka is training herself hard for the ongoing clay-court season. She hasn’t had a great record on clay so far and is thus practicing on green clay ahead of the clay-court tournaments. However, apart from tennis, she is now a businesswoman too who likes to invest in growing businesses.
In a recent interview, Naomi Osaka revealed what drives her to invest in companies. She mentioned a number of factors that she considers before making any investment.
“It’s hard to answer that succinctly as I look at so many things, and it changes from company to company. What stays consistent is (1) whether I organically use and like the product; and (2) whether I like the people running the company and believe in what they stand for,” said Osaka in the interview.

The Japanese star clearly highlighted that for her to make an investment anywhere, she should have a liking to the product. She stated that if she likes the company’s motive, she likes to invest in it. Interestingly, she also reflected that any company which has similar goals as her fascinates her a lot.
“If the company has similar goals to mine then, of course, I like to look at their future valuation and room for growth, ethics, and ethos and whether that aligns with mine; and finally, I like to hear about their creative marketing plans,” added Osaka.

“Using Hyperice as an example, Jim, Star, and Anthony are all great and have become personal friends. When you look at the commercial that I voiced over in the summer, that’s a great example of great content produced with my interests and beliefs at the core,” concluded the 4-time Grand Slam champion.
Osaka emphasized that she has developed quite a few personal bonds in Hyperice. She feels that she has common interests with the company, which really motivated her to invest in it.
