In a recent episode of Served with Andy Roddick, Kim Clijsters opened up about her perceptions of the situation of Simona Halep. This Belgian tennis player said, “I think obviously I was very surprised when I heard the news and you know I don’t know Simona very well but I know her well enough I think to kinda have a little bit of judgment. It’s something that I do believe that she didn’t take anything on purpose, to you know put her career in a situation like it is today. I think to me the biggest red flag is you know the team.”

Clijsters went further to explain how the team of Simona Halep didn’t bother to check her prescribed supplements with the WTA Doping Committee. She said, “Like I have a hard time and I get it I get that she took the supplements and you know she has to be where you have been in these situations where you get sick and you have to have checked everything like I have had to like anything that I had to or doctors prescribed I had to check with the WTA with the Doping Committee like ‘Is this clean? Can I get an approval? If you don’t do that there is always a risk.”

Kim Clijsters blames Halep’s coach regarding the issue and calls him ‘manipulating’

This Belgian tennis player directly pointed her fingers at Halep’s coach Patrick Mouratoglou. She said, “But in a situation like this I am so for women especially when you have coaches that take over your team where they I mean I call it manipulating, I don’t find another word for it, taking control of everything that happens around an athlete I do have a hard time with the fact that you know in this case it’s Patrick.”

Clijsters also explains her reasons in detail. She said, “He does a video, says it’s a collagen product that might the team had proposed for her to take, and that she takes it without hesitation. Where you trust your team, where you trust the people around you that they know that they are doing the right thing and that happens on such a, I have a really hard time you know that there was no consequence for the team.”

Where she could have been a Hall of Famer, she is forced not to play any tournaments.
