World’s former number two tennis star Simona Halep pens down an emotional note thanking her fans. Halep was accused of taking a prohibited substance by the Anti-Doping Committee of WTA and banned from professional tournaments for an unannounced period. Halep challenged the decision and appealed in a higher court stating that she didn’t intentionally consume it.

Simona Halep received unbelievable support from the tennis fraternity. Former colleague and Belgian tennis player Kim Clijsters blamed Halep’s team and her coach for this situation. Amid all the crisis, this Romanian tennis star is still hopeful and thanking fans for their support.

Simona Halep thanks her fans for this unconditional support and relies on the fact that “truth always prevail(s)”

On her official Instagram, Simona Halep shared a thank you message for the tennis fraternity, who supported her unconditionally. Halep wrote- “The nightmare that I have lived for a year and half has finished. I had the chance to present my defence in front of TAS, to show that I never did any kind of doping. This is what I have said from the first day that I was accused. Now i am waiting for the decision with my head held high and I wanted to thank you, my fans, players, former players, legends of this sport, my sponsors and everyone else for your amazing support, all the messages and videos that you did for me during this harrowing time that i had.”

Halep’s statement was supported by many tennis stalwarts. Former ATP pro and famous coach Boris Becker believed that Halep deserved a good result. He commented on the post by saying- “and hopefully come back to play more tennis  …we have missed you!” Her former colleague Kim Clijsters pointed her fingers at Halep’s coach Patrick Mouratoglou and her team for breaching the Romanian tennis star’s trust. Clijsters also spoke about how Halep’s team who was involved in the case was not punished at all.

Simona Halep’s confession expressed that this tennis star is not ready to accept any blame. In fact, she wishes to stick to her claim of innocence. She concluded by saying-“I thank you for your unconditional trust. This support has meant the world to me and gave me strength to keep fighting each day to show the truth! I will share the news about my case with you all as soon as I receive it. I wish you all the very best. Good and truth always Prevail. Simona.”
