Amanda Anisimova and Darren Cahill end their partnership

The Australian coach had a short but successful stint with the 20-year-old before he decided to call it quits. It had nothing to do with Anisimova, Cahill told her, just that he’s been struggling particularly with tough quarantine rules around travel to Australia. Further, Cahill will be going back to Australia soon to rest. Meanwhile, Anisimova will continue with Hleb Maslau & Rob Brandsma as her team.

The pair had a great start to their partnership. Anisimova began this season with an eight-match winning streak. She won her first tournament of the season, the Melbourne Summer Set 2. En route to the title, she defeated the seeds Sorana Cirstea and Daria Kasatkina.

Further, she had a memorable run in the Australian Open. Anisimova reached the fourth round, before losing out to the eventual champion, Ashleigh Barty. Nonetheless, she eliminated the defending champion, Naomi Osaka in the third round.
