After being diagnosed with two cancers earlier this year, Martina Navratilova started her challenging journey hand-in-hand with her wife, Julia Lemigova. After months of struggle and the constant support of her wife, Martina is now finally able to see the light at the end of this dark tunnel that has been hovering around her life for a long time. Owing to the same, Julia recently shared a positive step that Martina has taken in her battle with cancer and their fans are all for it.

Battling cancer is not something a person can ever be fully prepared for. And on top of it, having to deal with two cancers at the same time seems beyond impossible. But nonetheless, Martina maintained her positive attitude and has finally made progress in the right direction. Along with this, the support of a loving partner like Julia who stood by her side all through this also speaks a lot.

Recently, Julia shared a lovely post on her Instagram account about how a small step, like getting a haircut after defeating cancer, can feel enormous for Martina.

She added a beautiful caption for the post as well. It read, “My wife Martina, just beat two cancers at the same time, and I couldn’t be more proud of her strength and determination. Her courage and grace inspire me every day. Today, we are taking her to get a haircut, and it may seem like a small, simple thing, but it is a reminder of how far we have come.”

Being able to defeat a life-threatening diagnosis twice can be difficult. But having a loving and supporting partner can make it a little easier. For Martina, it was Julia. Julia’s post on her wife battling the condition shows the adorable bond the two share and how this phase in their life has only made them stronger.

More about Martina Navratilova’s double cancer diagnosis

Martina was diagnosed with two cancers at the same time. She was first diagnosed with stage 1 throat cancer and then an early stage of breast cancer, unrelated to the previous one. After she was diagnosed with throat cancer, she underwent a few screenings and during the same time, her breast cancer was detected.

Going through chemo for two kinds of cancers was definitely hard for her. In one of her interviews, she mentioned that during the treatment; she lost around 25 pounds. She got so weak that she needed to use both her hands to be able to hold a glass of water. Coming out of this incredibly difficult phase will only motivate her to further enjoy her life even more with her loving family.
