Emma Raducanu didn’t have a great 2022 season. Following her first major triumph at the US Open in 2021, the teenage tennis sensation faced a flood of criticism for her conduct on and off the court. The first major triumph raised expectations among tennis fans, which the former US Open champion may not have met. However, she is happy with how she managed her first experience of dealing with the immense pressure of being a Grand Slam champion.
Raducanu created history in 2021 when she won the US Open as a qualifier. Alongside Coco Gauff and the world number one Iga Swiatek, the Brit sensation was regarded as the future of women’s tennis. However, 2022 hasn’t been kind to her. From frequent injuries to changes in coaching staff, Raducanu has struggled both on and off the court.
