A few days back, Pliskova announced that she has to take a tough call and end her 2023 season prematurely after sustaining a left wrist injury. The 31-year-old former world number 1, believes it’s better to take a break and come back stronger than weakening oneself by continuing with the injury. The 2x Grand Slam finalist last played at the WTA 1000 event in Guadalajara, Mexico. She lost to American Hailey Baptiste after a gripping second-round encounter. However, her struggle on the court this year didn’t prevent her from enjoying the moments off the court.

She was seen recently, cheering on for the 115 years old club from Rotterdam for David Hancko. The Slovak international who currently plays for Feyenoord as a defender is the husband of her identical twin, Kristyna Pliskova. Kriystyna, who is two minutes older than Karolina, is a former professional tennis player. Karolina’s post on social media was one of the rarest moments, as she barely poses together with her husband. It was a very special moment on a special day at a special venue. To put the icing on the cake, even Hancko scored a goal in that match. What a day for the family!
