However, none gained more attention than the ban placed on rainbow flags or attires with rainbow symbols. Before his demise, Grant Wahl was detained for entering a stadium wearing a rainbow t-shirt, and the incident gained worldwide attention.

The husband of Serena Williams is a huge soccer fan and so he reminisced about a conversation that he had with the renowned soccer journalist. Ohanian has time and again expressed his love for soccer. But his aim and vision towards increasing the popularity of NWSL are clear and strong.

The Reddit co-founder reminisced about the renowned sports journalist recently. Alexis Ohanian took to Twitter and stated, Watching the #WorldCup and I can’t stop thinking about @GrantWahl — I had a wonderful conversation with him last year about @weareangelcity & he was such an earnest supporter of the beautiful game here in US — I hope his family finds peace.”

His passion for the sport made him one of the most loved and respected sports journalists around the world. However, the world had to bid him farewell early. Unfortunately, he passed away while covering the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
