‘Some Little Girl Like Her Was Making Art’ – Serena Williams’ Five-Year-Old Daughter’s Innocent Curiosity Puzzles Father Alexis Ohanian

When it comes to good parenting, Alexis Ohanian, the husband of Serena Williams, is ticking all the boxes. Be it having fun or sitting down at the table to have serious conversations, he has found the perfect balance. Moreover, the Williams-Ohanian family has a thing for traditions that they enjoy with Olympia, like every weekend when they hit the griddle to make pancakes. Now, Ohanian has made a similar routine to hit some serious topics after dinner every night.

As Olympia is growing up, Ohanian knows she is going to have multiple questions about the world. So, the cofounder of Reddit has decided to take a smart approach where he can answer them one by one.

Olympia has Alexis Ohanian working as her encyclopedia

The Reddit co-founder is always one step ahead when it comes to his daughter Olympia. As she is growing up, Ohanian is focusing on her holistic development.

Olympia is five at the moment and with that age comes a lot of questions about the world. So, Ohanian has found a way where he answers her questions but in such a way that it stays retained in her memory. The ‘Mayor of the Internet’ took to his Instagram to detail the process. He stated, “I ask @olympiaohanian to bring a BIG question to the dinner table every night; I promise I’ll always answer it if I know, or (as is often the case) we’ll look it up together.”

And some nights, the questions do not have an exact answer. But even if the internet does not have a satisfactory answer for Olympia, Ohanian finds one for his daughter.

“This night, she asked “who was the first artist?” so we got to look up cave paintings together as I tried to explain we have no idea exactly who, but do know tens of thousands of years ago some little girl like her was making art on the walls of caves she lived in,” he stated.

He has made a conscious decision to simplify things for her so that she can understand the world better. This is the kind of parenting approach that makes millions of fans adore Ohanian as a father. Maybe this is the approach to how Olympia one day will understand her position in the pro-sports realm too?

Olympia is just five and is too young to understand her importance at the moment. However, being the youngest owner of the pro-sports team, NWSL’s Angel City FC, is one thing she’ll always be remembered for.

In an interview with People, Ohanian stated that right now she does not understand the importance. Even if she likes cheering for the club, she is going to take some time to understand the layers of her role as she grows up.
