Naomi Osaka, who ended her season after a stunning defeat to Canada’s rising tennis prodigy Leylah Fernandez at the US Open, has been hitting the courts lately and will most likely take part at the Australian tennis summer in January next year.
During her off season, Osaka has been involved in various off-court activities, working for her brands, and even attended a few fashion events along the way.
Recently, the Japanese tennis star also got her name under the Forbes Under-30 Hall of Fame list and became one of the only two sports stars to be given the honor(the other one being LeBron James).

Looking at Osaka’s WTA season this year, the Japanese player got off to a roaring start by winning the Australian Open and even performed well at a couple of other hard-court events that followed the ‘happy slam’.
European clay-court season hampered the confidence of Naomi Osaka
However, her troubles began at the European clay-court swing, where Osaka was outsmarted by clay-court specialists as she entered the French Open without having complete confidence on her game.
At Roland Garros, Osaka stirred up a controversy by not choosing to attend the post-match press conference in order to preserve her mental health before the next contest.
As the incident was blown out of proportion due to miscommunication, the Japanese tennis star withdrew from Roland Garros and even decided to skip Wimbledon.

Osaka’s comeback at the US hard-court season didn’t yield fruitful results as she lost in the third-round at the US Open to Leylah Fernandez. The Japanese player admitted after the defeat that she wanted to take a break from tennis and didn’t give a timeline on when she will be back.

But, in a good news to fans, Naomi Osaka began posting videos of her practice sessions on Instagram and this made it clear that she will be willing to compete again at the series of events scheduled in Australia next year.
