From the American tennis legend Serena Williams to the current generation player Naomi Osaka, many prominent figures in the sport have embraced motherhood. While ardently keeping up with their on-court endeavors, the WTA stars have successfully embarked on their new journey as parents.

Taking note of the same, many female tennis players now believe that being a mother is no longer frowned upon in high-level sports. Spanish tennis player Paula Badosa also falls into the same category as she recently asserted that parenthood is ‘something very beautiful’.

Paula Badosa has been delighted with her peers embracing motherhood
In a recent interview with Glamour, Badosa opened up about her journey to the top echelons in women’s tennis. When she was questioned regarding her viewpoint on parenthood no longer being seen as a taboo in elite sports, the former world No. 2 player answered in affirmative as she brought to light some of her fellow WTA players who have recently taken up the parental role.
In the process, the Spanish star also asserted that juggling between two significant tasks of being a parent and an athlete at the same time can be quite challenging.

Later, she also mentioned the name of her compatriot, Ana Peleteiro who is also an athlete embracing motherhood at the young age of 27. Badosa added, “It is very inspiring to see how tennis players who have just become mothers in two months are at their best. That all these things look normal is something very cool.”

There are a few prominent names on the WTA Tour who previously became parents while gracing the courts. The list includes the likes of the American tennis legend, Serena Williams who gave birth to her daughter after her remarkable triumph in Melbourne Park.

Even after welcoming her first child, Olympia, the ‘Queen of the Court’ managed to remain a resounding figure on the court. Apart from Williams, Belarusian tennis player Victoria Azarenka also falls into the same category as she is also the mother of the 6-year-old child, Leo.
