After a lackluster grass season, Bianca Andreescu returned to the court to mark her participation in the ongoing Citi Open taking place in Washington. Despite some great efforts, the Canadian tennis beauty was knocked out in the very first round of the WTA 500 event. However, it was a dramatic event involving Andreescu, as it drew far more attention than her defeat on the hard court.

A fan disrupts Bianca Andreescu’s match in Washington

The Ukrainian tennis star, Marta Kostyuk, recently made a stunning comeback after dropping the first set of her match against Bianca Andreescu. In a three-set thriller at the Citi Open, it was the 21-year-old who prevailed as she outclassed the Canadian tennis beauty, 2-6, 6-3, 7-6(5). However, the third set of the match was the source of much controversy due to the fan in the crowd.

The spectator was constantly heard shouting ‘out’ at the 23-year-old tennis star following her missed serves. Even when she hit a double fault in the third set, the fan reacted in a similar manner. Taking note of the same, Andreescu eventually turned towards the crowd and screamed ‘Shut up!’ at the guy who was constantly annoying her. The Canadian further refused to play until he left, and the security intervention made sure that this happened.
