The Russian tennis player Veronika Kudermetova advanced to the semifinals of the Madrid Open after a remarkable victory over Jessica Pegula in the quarterfinals. After her match, the 26-year-old turned a few heads after she shared her unusual post-match recovery technique.

The match against the 29-year-old American tennis player was far more exhausting than the Russian had anticipated. But there was one thing that helped her overcome the exhaustion of playing such a tiring match: having a drink!

The 26-year-old tennis star sat down for a lengthy interview with the Tennis Channel after her quarterfinal match. In the interview, she revealed her secret to having an incredible post-match recovery. She insisted that drinking beer after the game significantly helped her to cope up with fatigue.

She said, “I took some beer you know, for recovery. I started drinking beer this week. Yeah, this is the first time I took a beer, and it works really well. I mean, I’m so happy and proud of myself that I managed this tough match.”

When the host, Prakash Amritraj, questioned whether other players ought to follow her lead and consume a few beers to unwind, she gave him a measured response. She stated, “Sometimes, not always.”

However, the tennis pro also made a very adorable error in the same interview, which caused her fans to adore her cuteness.

While talking about other tennis players in the same interview, the Russian tennis player made a blunder involving the 19-year-old tennis player, Coco Gauff. In her accent, the 26-year-old tennis player mistakenly called Coco as ‘Coca’, which made the day of fans on Twitter.
