Due to this, she has also been compared several times with the tennis legend. Recently, in an interview, former Wimbledon champion, Marion Bartoli also compared her with Serena. Along with that, she also shared what her opinion was about her playing style at the tournament. Talking about the same, she also said that she felt Coco Gauff was ‘struggling’ during the game.

Recently in the talkshow Match Points, Marion Bartoli shared how she felt about the match Coco Gauff played at the US Open finals. She said, “She was struggling big time, and the way for me she has been able to just handle all of that, finding solutions [impressed me]. She didn’t play her best tennis, either, but still won a Slam. There are just so many positives. She’s definitely not a fluke. She’s gonna get on top of the game, absolutely.”

Even though Marion pointed to the fact that Coco did not play her best at the tournament, she still won because she was able to find solutions to the problems she was facing on the court. And that is something that impressed her.

Not just Marion, but the other panelists during the interview, especially renowned journalist Simon Cambers also agreed and called Coco Gauff No. 1.
