Emma Raducanu, since her debut on the professional tour, has achieved a spot on the elite list by claiming her first Grand Slam title last year. Therefore, tennis fans around the world would find it difficult to believe the current US Open champion in a field that is hugely contrasting from her current exploits on the WTA tour.

During a recent interview with some school children, Raducanu picked a profession if tennis wasn’t an option. What stream would have suited her the most? Well, here’s the answer.
Emma Raducanu about the other profession
Raducanu, while addressing some students of Wolverley Secondary School, shared her journey and struggles. During the interview, she stumbled upon an interesting question. A what-if query about her profession? To which she replied, “Well, for me I would have gone into finance.”
Thereafter, she explained, “My parents were always in that sort of industry and I was just brought up to sort of think that way. And I studied math and economics for A- level.”

“So I think that I probably would have carried that on,” she added. The Brit, after touching the peak of her career last year, unfortunately suffered several injuries. Earlier this year, her run in the Australian Open got hampered because of a right-hand blister. Then, she struggled with a left hip injury in the Guadalajara Open. Following that, she had to retire from the WTA 1000 event in Rome owing to a back injury.

Currently, the 19-year-old is gearing up for the last Grand Slam of the year. After failing to achieve a noteworthy run in the Wimbledon Championships, the only way for her to end the season on a high is to defend her title at the US Open.
Raducanu’s coaching changes
Emma Raducanu often finds herself tangled in questions regarding her frequent coaching changes. Since her debut in 2018, she has changed several coaches. Last year, following her fourth round run in the Wimbledon, she broke her alliance with Nigel Sears and joined hands with Andrew Richardson, who later helped her win her first ever Grand Slam.

Thereafter, instead of giving time to a successful collaboration, she switched to LTA coach Jeremy Bates on a temporary basis and then assigned the position to Angelique Kerber’s former coach Torben Beltz. However, even with Beltz, the WTA No.10 couldn’t find the rhythm and broke the partnership after a mere five months and 10 WTA matches.
