In the quarterfinals, the 21-year-old player then pulled off a major upset against the reigning US Open champion and the third seed, Coco Gauff, as she won with a score of 3-6, 6-4, 7-6. During the three-set thriller, Kostyuk hit one ace and 10 double faults against the American, while she had a first-serve win percentage of 52% and a 61% on her second serves.

Kostyuk vs Vondroušová: Head-to-Head

The semifinal between Marta Kostyuk and Markéta Vondroušová at this season’s Stuttgart Open will also mark their second meeting on the women’s tour.
