

American tennis legend, Chris Evert has achieved almost everything in her career. After gaining popularity at an early age, the American worked hard throughout her playing days and retired with 18 majors to her name. She gained enormous popularity from an early age. While we may think she would have enjoyed that, the 67-year-old believes it came at a price.

In a recent interview, Chris Evert spoke about the drawbacks of being an extremely popular tennis player.

Evert explained how her achievements changed the way people behaved around her. Further, she stated an interesting account of events that she believes made her entitled.
“I think people… are always told, you’re the greatest and patted on the back and people can’t say no to them,” the 67-year-old said.
Further, she explained how her popularity helped her escape fines. “I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a ticket in my life. Because policemen have pulled me over many times and seen that I’m Chris Evert and they’ll go, ‘I’m such a big fan of yours, I’m going to let you go’,” she added.
She also admitted that it made her feel entitled. “When that happens years and years and years… I think you become a little entitled. And a little enabled, and I am the first to admit that I feel like that affected my relationships…” Evert concluded.

Evert hates her good girl image
Unlike other popular celebrities, Chris Evert has complained about the privileges of being a famous personality. As she rues the popularity might have spoiled her, she once admitted that people consider her a very good person for no reason.

The 67-year-old said that she doesn’t enjoy carrying a clean image. Further, the legend explained that she is a pretty normal person and, just like anyone else, has done both good and bad things in her life.
