Former American tennis star Serena Williams is in a completely new phase of her life now. After giving all her life to tennis the 41-year-old finally moved on from the sport. The American decided to let go of her favorite sport so that she can spend more time with her daughter. However, after a few months of retirement, the former world number one is missing tennis again. While she has hinted it many times earlier, this time Serena spoke about the challenging task of sitting home and not doing anything. Here’s what happened.

Fans react as Serena Williams narrates her plight

Being Serena Williams is not easy. There’s a constant expectation from you. Apart from being a regular mother, a big group of people look up to her when she takes the court. However, after years of grind and hard work, silence is something Serena is not comfortable with.

After living all her life constantly occupied, relaxing for a moment seems difficult. The 23-time Grand Slam champion recently took to her Twitter account and expressed what she is feeling. Here’s what she wrote.

“I’m currently allowing myself to be tired. Allowing myself To relax. Allowing myself to just be. It’s harder than I ever imagined. I’ve never allowed myself to do any of that before…”

A fan disagreed with Serena and asked her to value taking time off and resting.

Most of the fans understand what Serena is going through. A few of them asked her to understand the value of rest and take some time off for herself. The situation arises in every athlete’s career. Leaving the work you have done all your life and all of sudden you have nothing else to do.

Earlier tennis great Andre Agassi also expressed similar feelings after his retirement. That too when the American used to hate the sport initially. While Serena has always been in love with tennis, it must be harder for her.
