Naomi Osaka displayed tremendous skill and strength last week when she beat Coco Gauff at the Cincinnati Open. Unfortunately the World No.2 could not repeat her heroics in the round of 16 stage. Just like on court, Osaka has showed her immaculate form and class off of it. She has announced her new collaboration with denim brand Levi’s.

The American brand in collaboration with her will be launching the new Levi’s X Naomi Osaka line on the 24th of August. Managing editor of The Roots has confirmed the news about another brilliant partnership Osaka will be entering.

The Naomi Osaka X Levi’s line drops soon

The new collection involves four upcycled denim pieces. A kimono, lace-up shorts, crystal fringe shorts and a tucker jacket. The tucker jacket is reimagined as a bustier top. Prices of these apparels range between $150-400 and will be hitting the online stores and selective Levi’s stores. However, the main focus is the sustainability and comfort level of the products.

Naomi Osaka has been an ardent fan of the kimono. A kimono is a traditional Japanese T-shape, wrap around dress with long sleeves. She said in a press conference, “The sustainability aspect was super important to me. And I love that every piece in the collection has been recycled or repurposed from old stock.”

Naomi Osaka lost her third round match at the Cincinnati Open against Jil Teichmann of Switzerland. In order to defend her title at the US Open later next week, she needed a strong finish in Cincinnati. However, her upsetting finish at the Tokyo Olympics added fuel to the fire.

Osaka played the French Open in June and took a break from tennis after that. Her comeback at the Olympics did not go according to plans and she eventually lost in the second round. She will need more than luck to retain her crown and assert her dominance again.
