Further, he added, “And I think sometimes when you’re in the middle of it, you take it for granted to a degree, like, ‘Oh, it will be there.’ And then it’s not there for a year and you go, ‘God, I really love it. I really want to play.’ And then you get out there and play and you enjoy it.”

Serena’s well-deserved break after her retirement

Since her comeback to the tour from a hamstring injury, the 23-time Grand Slam champion has been playing continuously. After ending her US Open and tennis commitments, Serena enjoyed resting over the weekend. She shared a picture on her official Instagram handle where she could be seen enjoying a much-deserved break.

Although Serena failed in her quest to equal the all-time record of 24 major titles, she retires as one of the best players ever in the women’s circuit, if not the best. Along with her 23 Grand Slam titles, she has also won 14 majors in doubles with her sister Venus Williams, and four Olympic gold medals.
