The latest to join the club was Liverpool’s manager, Jurgen Klopp. Klopp played a huge role in Liverpool winning their first Premier League title in 2019, an achievement that the club has been waiting to accomplish for three decades.

Jurgen Klopp heaps praise on Emma Raducanu and Leylah Fernandez after their US Open final battle

Talking to Sky Sports over the Brit’s amazing three-week run at the US Open, Klopp praised the courage shown by both Raducanu and Fernandez in their first major final.

Women’s tennis is obviously in a brilliant moment, in the moment. These two girls were 18 and 19, what they showed was massively impressive( during the game). Both girls, how they spoke(in the trophy ceremony), at 18 and 19, that was inspiring, even more so than the tennis”, Klopp said.

Jurgen Klopp went on to talk more about the way the two finalists presented themselves in a high-pressure match and about their composure throughout the contest.

I was absolutely overwhelmed by the way the two girls presented themselves. Even if it’s only for a few hours, but they were obviously bold and it was really nice. She is for sure talent of the century, but anyhow without hard work, it was not possible to be there.”, continued the Liverpool Club manager.

Doing that, or that she(Emma Raducanu) did that, and now she is there in that moment, and you see you are smiling during the game. It’s just, the nicest thing I can imagine. I will watch women’s tennis much more now again than I did in the last few years”.

It was indeed inspiring to see two youngsters play high-level tennis on their maiden run to a major final. Both Raducanu and Fernandez might play more frequently as they saw their rankings take a huge leap post the US Open.
