Tennis Fans Unite to Celebrate Venus Williams’ ‘Soothing’ Words as the Legend Put Her Luggage Fiasco Firmly in the Past

This season, the tennis community sporadically got to witness Venus Williams and her stellar prowess on the court owing to her injury woes. But, now that the former world No. 1 was recently back on the tour, things didn’t go according to her plan. During her participation in the Canadian Open, the 43-year-old tennis legend suffered a surprising blow when her luggage was sent to the Bahamas instead of Montreal.

It was her usual travel preference, American Airlines, that was in trouble for the baggage fiasco that left the American tennis player with few outfit options in the country. Given the rasping situation, it was quite justified for an athlete to vent their frustrations toward the one responsible. However, Williams, with her straight-faced zen mode, has now brushed her anger over the glaring mishap. Taking note of the same, a slew of fans are now adoring the former Wimbledon champion’s no-nonsense demeanor in which she handled her luggage saga.

The tennis community reacts to Venus Williams’ baggage fiasco

After her first-round victory in her home tournament, Cincinnati Masters, the 43-year-old was asked to comment on her off-court mishap, which previously got her into trouble in Canada. Venus Williams revealed how she had to make “relentless” phone calls to an agent in order to get her luggage that was sent to the Caribbean.

In addition to this, the American tennis icon was also forced to do a lot of shopping as she was hardly left with any outfits. The WTA player further labeled it as “the craziest day ever” during her participation in a tournament. However, despite this major goof-up from the airlines, Venus has now handled the matter in a peaceful way. When asked if she has now changed her airline preferences, the tennis star said, “Oh, it happens. I forgive and forget, yeah.”

It came to the public lens when the official Instagram page of Tennis Channel shared a video clip of her press conference. In the caption of their post, they hailed Venus by saying, “Queen of calmness 👑”

Taking note of the 7 singles Grand Slam champion gracefully managing the situation, a flurry of fans reacted in the comments section. One of the fans said, “only way to stay above madness … forgive & forget!”

Another user asserted that this off-court demeanor of the tennis legend has won her many fans in the sporting realm. The fan said, “She’s a beautiful person that’s why she is loved”

Meanwhile, one of the fans found a unique way of lauding Venus for peacefully dealing with the unpleasant situation. She said, “Thank you Venus, in my Serena voice for handling this situation in a calm and peaceful manner. Someone was waiting for you to not be you. #muchrespect #muchlove”

Other users asserted that the former Wimbledon champion loves her zen and no-nonsense demeanor. They said, “Venus really loves her peace!!” and  “I aim to be this calm, even her words was soothing”

Another fan expressed her adoration towards the American tennis icon, “Love Venus,” and added a string of heart emojis.
