Rick Macci talked about the movie and his role in it. He liked the portrayal of his character, and found it a true depiction of his contribution to shaping the career of the two sisters. But, had some reservations regarding the portrayal of one of his students, Jennifer Capriati.
He said, “That caught me off guard. I wish they had added four or five sentences at the end, saying, Jennifer Capriati came back, became No.1 and won three Grand Slams, and got a $10 million contract from Fila.” He understood the representation of the early burnout of young players. However, he wanted to show how she overcame and became a world no. 1 after her comeback.

He added, “That would’ve been nice because you can always get knocked down, but when you come back, that says it all.”

Jennifer Capriati is world-renowned for her astounding rise at a very young age. She reached the finals of her first tour only at the age of 13 and had become the youngest player in history to reach the finals of the tour. Furthermore, she became a world no. 1 player in the year 2001 and took retirement from professional tennis in 2004. And, in 2012, she became the International Tennis Hall of Famer.
