French tennis star Alize Cornet recently expressed her frustration with the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) for misquoting her in an interview, which made her come across as prideful. The tennis veteran, known for her impressive career and sportsmanlike conduct on the court, was taken aback and disappointed to see her statements misrepresented by the organization that governs professional women’s tennis.

In a recent interview with WTA, Cornet shared her thoughts on her career so far and her expectations for upcoming tournaments. However, following the WTA’s publication of the interview, the player found that her words had been altered to give the impression she was boasting about her achievements and being full of pride. The 33-year-old, who has always been known for her humility and respect for her opponents, was shocked to see how her words had been interpreted.

As public figures, athletes deserve to have their words and actions portrayed truthfully and without distortion. By calling out the WTA for their misquotation, Cornet has highlighted the need for greater responsibility in the media and reminded organizations of their duty to uphold the integrity of the people they represent.

Alize in the same interview also talked about how excited she was to play against Serena Williams. She felt that if she could defeat a tennis legend like her, it would be phenomenal. Also, this way she would be able to prove herself that she is doing well. Alize also shared that she prepared for this particular match very precisely with her coach.

She had a very efficient strategy in place so that she would improve her chances to play against her and win. Cornet won the match against Serena after that and she was placed in WTA 500 level or above which was a great achievement for her. But later she lost after going to the finals to Venus Williams. She told WTA that it is not easy to beat both sisters in the same tournament.
