In this context, Macci brings the reference to Maria Sharapova, the world’s former number-one female tennis star, whom he coached during her childhood.

Sharapova also received her early training from Macci during her teenage days. While speaking about the mental factor, Macci reveals- “So I start with the mental early on. And I talk to the kids about going into the fence, taking the towel 20 seconds, flip it in your mind, it happened 20 years ago.”
