Patrick Mouratoglou will become the full-time coach of Simona Halep
Earlier today, on Twitter the French coach announced the news. He tweeted, “Today, I am starting a new chapter in my coaching career: I am now the full-time coach of Simona Halep. In the last 8 months, I realized how much I missed coaching. It is the passion of my life, and I still feel like I have so much to give. Simona came to the Mouratoglou Academy before Indian Wells for a training block. I swung by at a few of her practices, watched her train. At the end of the week, she asked me if I’m available to coach her. I have the highest respect for her but it was out of the question at the time. A few weeks later, I had a conversation with Serena, and the door opened for me, at least short term, to work with someone else. I will keep you updated on what’s coming next soon.“

What will happen to Serena Williams?
After this news, only one question is circling the heads of tennis fans. Is Patrick abandoning Serena Williams? Currently, we don’t have the answer yet. However, it’s imminent that Patrick will most likely leave Serena’s camp, as he is joining the Romanian superstar.

It’s only logical because he can’t coach two superstars at the same time. Moreover, Serena Williams has been out of tennis for the last eight months after suffering an injury at Wimbledon last year. According to Patrick’s tweet, he missed coaching for the last eight months and it’s his passion. Maybe Serena’s long-term injury forced the French coach to take this decision.
Meanwhile, Simona visited Patrick’s academy before flying out to the USA to play in the Indian Wells and Miami Open. During that time, she talked about her great experience at the academy with Patrick.
