Will Smith received the SAG Best male actor award for his lead role in the Movie King Richard. Golden Globe award winner and 3-time academy award nominee Smith’s portrayal of Richard Williams was very much acclaimed by many fans and critics around the world. Venus Williams and Serena Williams story with their father Richard Williams; was also at receiving end of the appreciation.

But a 36-year pro actor said he was nervous for the final approval by the Williams family about the film. While making his entry to the SAG awards, legendary actor Will Smith was asked about the reaction he got from Serena and Venus about the film.

He said, “If the family didn’t like it, believe it, as an artist that is devastating.”

Will Smith recalls the day of screening to the family

Smith entered the event with his beautiful wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. Both were looking stunning and confident for the function. After lots of praises, Will Smith was asked about his “super nervous” situation at the time of Screening to the Williams family.

He said, “When you are telling a story about someone’s life, it is a big responsibility. At my level, when I put something out in the world people takes it as a truth.” Clearly, it is a huge burden playing the lead role of such a “character centric” movie.

He further recalls the time of screening, as he said, “When I heard that they were watching it (movie) that was like worst two hours of my life.”

The film based on their father’s story has 5 nominations for the Academy Awards this year and has very strong chances of grabbing more than 1 “Golden beauties” in the bag.

The movie is nominated in 2 individual awards – Best actor lead role and Best Actress in supporting role. Also, it has the Best film nomination in the prestigious function.
