The recent controversy that took place in a match between Coco Gauff and Karolina Pliskova attracted the attention of fans, media, and members of the tennis community. While everyone got to know that the decision of umpire Pierre Bacchi was irrelevant, Rennae Stubbs found it hard to move ahead of the fact that Gauff’s call to see the supervisor was denied.

Serena Williams‘ former coach recently opened up about how it was quite irrelevant to deny Coco Gauff’s ask to see the supervisor. While the renowned coach dissected the whole scenario, she also suggested an alternative to how it should have been.

Former tennis player Rennae Stubbs recently opened up on the dispute involving Coco Gauff’s match against Karolina Pliskova. Stubbs’s major focus was on the point where Gauff attempted to involve the supervisor, which was left unanswered. She mentioned, “I’ve already tweeted about this what he was saying if it’s a rule like if it’s a rule interpretation, you can ask for the chair of the supervisor.”

Stubbs highlighted the umpire’s unwillingness to involve the supervisor, despite Gauff’s request. She criticized the way Pierre Bacchi handled the situation, stating, “He should’ve known better that he said for a fact out after the ball was basically that was the worst f**king Call I’ve seen long time.”

Stubbs suggested that the umpire’s failure to call for the supervisor was a critical error that added more intensity to the controversy. She shared her belief that the umpire mishandled the call and tried to cover it up later on, and it clearly defined the reason that simulated the whole argument.

It wasn’t just Rennae Stubbs who came forward to speak up for the refusal of Coco Gauff’s ask to see the supervisor. WTA legend Chris Evert also saw the irrelevancy of the incident and therefore tweeted her perspective on the situation.

“I can’t believe what I’m seeing. Coco had every right to see the supervisor, and her request was respectful and clear. What is wrong with him?” she posted. As Gauff received support from the timeless tennis legends, it is sure that her voice received powerful echoes that might put an end to the chances of such ignorant activities in the future.
