Meanwhile, the Aussie appeared in an interview. She discussed various aspects of her career and life. Interestingly, the host asked her if she prefers looking at the draw or taking one match at a time. Here’s how she replied.
Ajla Tomljanovic doesn’t like looking at the draws
The 29-year-old accepted that earlier in her career she used to get very excited about the draws. However, a certain incident changed her approach.
“I never look at the draw. I don’t know when it happened where I was like I needed to kind of take not the pressure off but just the expectation a little bit because there are a few players I don’t love playing and one time it happened that I was playing a girl I was about to win and already I was thinking about oh my gosh tomorrow this girl I am gonna.. and I came off the corner and I was like okay that can’t be happening. So I was like, let me solve that by just not looking at the draw,” she said.
Later, she accepted that now she has her coach tell her in advance about the next match.
“Now I’m like religiously, I have my coach text me who I am playing,” she added.
