Tursunov has refuted claims that Raducanu had skipped training to promote her brand deals. Additionally, he praised the player’s professionalism. The Brit has agreements with luxury brands like Dior, Porsche, and British Airways. Many have attempted to link her underwhelming performances in 2022 with her sponsorship commitments.

Tursunov sheds light on Emma Raducanu and lauds her skills

Emma Raducanu made significant progress on the WTA Tour in 2021, as she made it to the fourth round of Wimbledon and won the US Open. The then-18-year-old became the first qualifier to win the US Open. In an exclusive interview, Tursunov was quoted, “From the time that we started, Emma just really had her nose to the ground. She was very hardworking and I did not see her skip a lot of things.”

He further added, “Honestly, I did not see or feel that there were a lot of outside things going on.” Tursunov further swatted away claims that Raducanu was distracted by outside influences like endorsements or sponsorships. He said, “There was no aura of diva or superstar about her and I think she has been managing that part very well.”

Raducanu shares her plan for the 2023 season

Raducanu will make her 2023 season debut at the ASB Women’s Classic in Auckland, New Zealand. Due to a wrist injury, Raducanu hasn’t competed since early October. She was also unable to participate in the recently concluded Billie Jean King Cup Finals in Glasgow.
