Ons Jabeur last week called herself the co-pilot of Iga Swiatek. In her words, the Rome finals will be the clash of their plane with just one parachute.

Like Iga Swiatek, Ons Jabeur is also climbing the ladder of wins rapidly. The Tunisian player hasn’t lost a single match since the start of her Madrid campaign. As per the stats, she is on an 11-0-win streak since Madrid. On the other hand, not to mention, with a 27-0-win streak since Qatar Open, Iga continues to be in a roaring form.

Yesterday, after her semifinal win over Daria Kasatkina, Ons had an addition to her flying idea with the World No. 1. Opening up upon their much-anticipated final clash in Rome, Jabeur admitted that their plane will crash tomorrow. She also confessed that there is just one parachute as she hopes that she will get to take it.

“So tomorrow the plane will crash and there is only one parachute. I hope I take it (laughter). “I’m the co-pilot, though. There is no priority there.”

Playing some devastating tennis, both players came their way to the finals with complete ease. Both players being at their peak, the match is expected to be a treat for fans.

How does the final look like?

Looking at the tournament stats, both players seem to be in destructive form. While Iga has reached the finals without dropping a set, Ons has dropped just two sets on her way to the finals.

Looking back, Ons is coming fresh from winning the Madrid Open. On the other hand, Iga hasn’t lost a tournament since the Qatar Open. Going by this, Iga holds the upper hand on Ons. However, another stat shows a different picture. Looking at the head-to-head record, Ons leads the race 2-1. Taking that as a point of consideration, Ons may look to improve her lead further.
