Naomi Osaka is one of those few players who made their name when Serena Williams was ruling the sport. She defeated the 23-time Grand Slam champion to win her first-ever Majors trophy in the US Open. Thus making herself shine brighter than any other next-gen player.

Her arrival in WTA was a fresh breath of air for fans who watched Williams thrash her opponents for years. However, currently, she is going through some rough patches. Therefore, fans who have supported Osaka at their best are ready to help her regain her peak.
To Naomi Osaka with love
Osaka took part in the Canadian Masters after having to keep out of the grass-based Grand Slam owing to a pestering injury. Though her return wasn’t impactful as she packed her bags in the first round only. Thus, to boost the former World no.1’s spirit, some fans engraved their love on postcards. To which an overwhelmed Osaka responded, “This is like me being real, but whenever people tell me that I am their favorite player. It’s like honestly the most flattering thing ever.”

“Because I always think like there’s so many other players and it’s like wow you choose me out of those,” she added. Osaka tested her hard courts skills in Toronto before the last Grand Slam of the year.

She squared off with the Estonian former World no.15 Kaia Kanepi at the Centre Court on 10th August. There, after a tough first set battle, Osaka incurred a back injury which forced her to withdraw.
Osaka’s next stop
Regardless of the consecutive injuries, the two-time US Open champion is gearing up for the upcoming grand slam event at Flushing Meadows. She has signed up for the Cincinnati Masters to further sharpen her skills.

The Japanese star, who last executed a noteworthy run in Miami, needs a strong showing in both Cincinnati and New York to move up in the rankings chart. She will start her journey at Cincinnati Open by locking horns with the Chinese professional Zhang Shuai. They will meet on 15th August to secure a seat in the round of 32.
