Despite all the highs and lows in her recent US Open matchup, Aryna Sabalenka has once again proven that she is a testament to excellence, grit, and determination. In her grueling semifinal against Madison Keys, the Belarusian tennis star was one set and two games down and on the verge of a straight-sets defeat. The subsequent events, however, turned out to be one of the greatest turnarounds in the tournament.
Justifying her new world No. 1 status, Sabalenka pulled off a remarkable comeback after prevailing in two consecutive tiebreaker sets against the 17th seed American. However, it might not have been possible without the unwavering support of her team who was also there in the stadium. Emphasizing the same, the WTA sensation recently opened up about her relationship with her team in a cheeky manner.

Aryna Sabalenka candidly spoke about her team at the US Open
The new world No. 1 player recently came back from 6-0 in the first set and somehow managed to prevail in the three-set thriller, 0-6, 7-6, 7-6 win. During the intense semifinal, Sabalenka also threw some on-court tantrums after getting broken in the 2nd set. And it was her team that faced the Belarusian’s wrath as she was shouting and swearing at them.
In addition to her outbursts, there were also some hilarious moments between Sabalenka and her team. The second seed player’s squad was grinning and laughing at her when she thought she had won her match at 7-3 in the ten-point tiebreak. In light of all these intense and hilarious moments, Sabalenka was later asked to comment on her relationship with her team.
“They’re fired. They’re not my team anymore. It’s all their fault. No, no, no, I mean, we spoke a lot after the first half of the semifinals. We spoke that if I need to throw those emotions I have to do it otherwise I’ll just hit myself from the inside that’s why I was like yelling, screaming like swearing at them,” the Belarusian jokingly said in her on-court interview.
