Apart from this, she has also been in the limelight due to her recent struggle throughout the clay-court season. This time, in the ongoing French Open, she suffered a first-round exit. The loss not only invited criticism from pundits but also tennis fans around the world.

Not new to the tennis world, Osaka has experience dealing with people expressing stern opinions. Yesterday, she opted to react to it in the most hilarious way.

Osaka reacts to fans’ criticism

Osaka is famous for her introverted nature. The Japanese sensation is hardly seen expressing her emotions during matches or her interactions. However, that isn’t the case on social media. Yesterday, the 26th of May, she took to Twitter, replying to the constant attention and contempt she suffered after her French Open loss. Even though she took it hilariously, she made sure to put forward her firm point and disapproval. Taking a dig, she jokingly asserted that people get paid to talk about her.

She wrote, “Some people talk about me so much I’m convinced they’re getting paid. No way I’m on your mind that much. Yikes.”

This isn’t the first time Osaka has opened up about hatred on social media. On several occasions, Osaka has expressed herself, however, in a much more serious tone.

Recalling the French battle of Naomi Osaka

Following her Madrid loss and giving Rome a miss, Osaka finally entered the 2022 French Open with high hopes. She kicked off her campaign against 27th seed, Amanda Anisimova. The two started the first set on a high note, with both players giving their best. However, Amanda won the first set.

The second set started on a similar note, with both players playing at a high level. Eventually, Anisimova broke Osaka’s serve mid-set to take the lead. Maintaining the lead, she went on to outplay the 4-time Grand Slam champion, 7-5, 6-4.
