Chris Evert shocked everyone in 2006 by pulling down the curtain on her 18-year-long marriage with Andy Mill. Despite this, Evert and Mill preserved certain bonds, and they cherish those bonds even to this day. They both had three boys together and had been a fantastic parenting team for their children.
Not only that, they both also share a friendly bond with each other. Recently, the 68-year-old tennis legend shared a beautiful Father’s Day post for her ex-husband Andy, as she praised his sacrifices.

The 18-time Grand Slam champion, by 1997, had her own family of five, with three boys forming a big part of her life. When she married Mill, they were quite in love with each other. But after 18 years of marriage, things started falling apart. They called off their union but remained a part of the family of five just for the sake of the children. As parents to their children, they have always been together, even after their separation.
Recently, the former world number one tennis player shared clear proof regarding how she still shares a great bond with the father of her children. She tweeted, “Happy Father’s Day to this special guy ❤️…A wonderful father and role model to our three sons. He thinks he’s the sheriff of Aspen…”

Well, the former alpine ski racer, even after their divorce, stood beside her through thick and thin, as a friend and as a father to her children. It made the 68-year-old tennis legend regret her decision to break off her marriage with Mill.

Evert regrets walking away from her marriage with Mill
After 18 years of married life with Alpine ski racer Andy Mill, Evert chose to marry Mill’s close friend and former golfer, Greg Norman, in 2008. However, their ill-fated relationship ended within 15 months. In a candid interview with ‘US Elle’ in 2011, the 18-time Grand Slam champion acknowledged she should never have left her ex-husband Mill for Norman.
She said, “… when someone came into my life, I just left. I broke a lot of hearts. I broke Andy’s heart and broke my kids’ hearts.

Further, she emphasized that they had a nice, strong marriage and that when things started to go south, she should have talked to Mill and her kids right away rather than leaving and crushing their hearts.
