In sports, we often talk about rivalries and friendships. Over the years, several rivalries, relationships and friendships have won over the fans. However, Serena Williams and Venus Williams shared probably the most iconic rivalry and bond on the tennis court. Even during their competitive days, they would show up at each other’s box to show support. Venus is heavily involved in Serena’s personal life. However, the elder sister was not present at Serena’s pre-push party.

Recently, the 23-time major champion hosted a pre-push party for her second baby. It was a rather small version of a baby shower. Serena took to her YouTube channel to show snippets of the event. Her friends were at the party, and so was Olympia. But there was no Venus Williams!

Why was Venus not a part of Serena Williams’ pre-push party?

So far, Venus has been experiencing a disappointing return to tennis. An injury forced her to sit out the Australian Open and the French Open, while she walked out of the event in SW19 in the first round. Currently, she is doing everything in her power to prepare for her home Slam, the US Open. Despite the busy schedule, her fans were fully expecting to see Queen V in her sister’s ‘Pre-Push Party’. But she was nowhere to be found.

Venus Williams was in Montreal for the National Bank Open. She received a wildcard for this week’s Canadian Open and participated in the WTA 1000 event. Despite facing a first round exit at the hands of Madison Keys, Venus spent a few days in the town. She had to land early and start practicing in the courts. But she was in full party mode when she was with her sister during her special gender reveal party.

They had close family members and friends at the party while live-streaming the event for their fans on YouTube. However, Alexis also pulled off a prank in the ceremony. The Reddit co-founder did not include the food dye in the cake to reveal the baby’s gender.
